Honestly, would it surprise you? It was always intended to be a trilogy of trilogies.
It would be interesting to see if Lucas ends up modelling it after some of the storylines that have popped up in the post-RotJ literature. Some of it is actually quite good (for Star Wars writing, I suppose ;-) ).
For example, if it followed through Timothy Zahn's Thrawn books, I for one would be interested in seeing what Lucas does with them. I always liked Grand Admiral Thrawn and Mara Jade.
Of course, it would be much less painful to watch if Lucas handed the screenplay writing off to someone who actually understands the art.

Or handed the Directing job to somebody else. Maybe he should just sit back and count the money and let other people make the movies. I'm sure everyone would be a lot happier. =)

I, for one, would pay to see ysalamari on the big screen. ;) Zahn's trilogy is far and away the best of the novels.

You know, for some reason, the first time I read about the ysalamari, the mental image I got was of a barrel of monkeys. Don't ask me why.
