Wendy's Chicken Sandwiches

Without a doubt, I will say that Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich is infinitely more tasty than the Homestyle Chicken Sandwich. I got a Homestyle last night after arriving from Chicago because the Wendy's was out of Spicy Chicken Sandwiches. I was thoroughly disappointed. Completely un-tasty.

That is all.

Hmpf. Should've previewed first, I guess.

That first paragraph should read:
The trick is to replace the sauce it comes with by default (nasty, vile stuff <>) with mayonaise, I think. I always get mine plain with cheese, mayo, and tomato, and it's pretty tasty.

That's a lot of remodeling.

And I just got the Homestyle chicken sandwich with the default settings. It was thoroughly un-tasty. The spicy can be a little too-spicy for me, but I like the extra little kick. The mayo is what makes it more tolerable for me.

What happened to the Michael that only ate the "Triple Heart Attack" with cheese and ketchup only? I know of no Michael that eats chicken at Wendy's?!

The "Triple Heart Attack" w/ Cheese is only good when eating in at Wendy's, because waiting until I get back to work afterwards spoils the excessive grease that is gushing out of the burger.

I typically just go through the drive-thru, hence no more Triples.

I have to agree that the homestyle is vile. I had a spicy chicken sandwich just two nights ago actually. Pikers tried to get away without giving me tomato!

There's a tomato shortage due to all the florida hurricane stuff. As such, Wendy's is only putting tomatoes on sandwiches when they are specifically requested.

Ah, that reasoning makes perfect sense, but I want one of several things be done. Some possibilities are:

1) Make a sign announcing this problem/solution
2) Lower prices slightly to reflect the difference
3) Ask me if I would like tomato
4) Come of with some bold new fruit to put in place of tomato...
5) the list goes on

Just don't try to stealth the tomatos off my sandwich without telling me!!

There was a sign at our Wendy's. That's how I knew.

Good thing Dave didn't order a jr. bacon cheeseburger or some such. Pikers might have tried to keep the bacon off and then...

I saw no such sign today. Either the shortage is over, or I'm just not very observant.

I've had this done to me at two different Wendy's now, with nary a sign in evidence. I think it's cheap, personally. The other restaurant chains don't seem to be having problems...

Subway had a slew of tomatoes (sp) when I was there yesterday. Something is rotten in the ranks of Wendy's.

There was an article about the shortage in the Indy paper the other day. It said many restaurants are holding the tomatoes unless requested. I saw at least one sign, but I don't remember what restaurant it was at. The article in the paper did say that Subway wasn't witholding them, but then again, you have to specifically ask for them there anyway.

I do think they should let you know somehow that you aren't getting tomatoes.
