Talked out of it

Dave talked me out of getting rid of MT. According to him, his "flurry" of spam comments equaled some number less than 10, so I don't think I'll have a problem with that.

The key to the whole process is something called MT-close which closes posts to comments that are older than 'x' days. So, basically I have to cut off for comments certain age posts. I have decided that anything that is off the first page (2 weeks old) will be closed for comments. I don't think I have ever gotten a legitimate comment on something that was several months old, so I think this is pretty fair.

Unfortunately, I have to do a little rework to get this to work. MT-close requires that you are using MySQL and I am currently using the BerkeyDB to do my back-end stuff. So I need to take down the blog and do some maintainence to make the change-over. I want to do it this week and I'll probably do it at night (my time), so I doubt anyone will be affected, but just as a heads up.
