New CDs
I bought a couple of CDs the other day. I purchased Rise Against - Siren Song of the Counter Culture and Panic! At the Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out. Both are pretty good.
Rise Against is (from what I heard) supposed to be hardcore punk. While I probably wouldn't classify it as such, it is definitely more punk than most of the punk-pop that is on the radio right now. I probably wouldn't classify it as punk though, simply because the songs are over 2 minutes in length. =) It's pretty good too. I have been enjoying it this past week, there are about 5 songs that I rate at 4 stars (out of 5) on my iPod. I give the CD a rating of 4 out of 5 pirates.

hmm, didn't know that panic!'s singer was from fall out boy. interesting. i really like them, though!

I'm pretty sure that it's him, but I am only using the sound of his voice to help me determine that fact. If it isn't the singer from Fall Out Boy, they sure sound the same.

that was pretty bold to say that fall out boy's singer is also panic!'s singer without checking it out. you are close here, though. the lyricist/bassist of fall out boy signed panic! to his record label. so there is a connection, just not a vocal one.
you are probably more of an expert in this "field" than i am, but vocalists in bands like these tend to sound the same, at least to me. a distinctive one is AFI's vocalist, though. you can tell in an instant that it's him!

Yeah, I'm often bold. I'm often wrong too. I wonder if there's a connection there...
In some of Panic!'s songs, specifically the first couple on the CD, the lead singer sounds a lot like FOB. Granted a lot of those bands' singers do sound the same.
I probably would have put quotes around "expert" instead of field on that one...but that's just me. =)
Yeah, AFI's lead singer has a very distinctive voice. I haven't picked up their new CD yet though. I'm thinking about it.
