The circle is complete

Yesterday I finally got the last Dashboard Confessional CD that I didn't own[0]. So now I have them all, at least until a new CD comes out. =)

Top 5 Favorite CDs (in autobiographical order)

Honorable Mentions

I really like at least 90% of the tracks on each of these CDs, which is not so much a requirement of the list, but it ended up that way.

What are yours?

(edit: Add honorable mentions as inspired my Mojo)

[0] My roommates can attest to that.

New Music Thursday?

Yeah yeah, I know I haven't posted about music in a while. I went CD shopping the other day and picked up some new stuff. I've only give each CD a single listen-through, so I don't think I can rate the CDs as a whole just yet, but they're pretty good.

New CDs I purchased:

I am always on the lookout for new music, and was looking for something similar to Dashboard Confessional. These CDs aren't exactly what I was looking for, but they are pretty good nonetheless.

Michael's New Music Wednesday

I didn't post last night because I got back from hockey hecka-late. So I present this week's new music:

Some of this music has been out for a while, I've just never had any of it on my posts, so it's new to me. =)

Michael's New Music Tuesday

Well, after spending some more time thinking about my Music of the Week post, I've decided to take it to another direction. I'm gonna post the Top X[0] new songs that I started listening to this past week. The music of the week playlist had some inherent flaws in its design and the possible solutions I am not willing to go through. So, let me present my new music Tuesday.

Favorite Dashboard Confessional

Dashboard Confessional is probably my favorite band. As such, I made a playlist a little while ago of my favorite songs of theirs. Enjoy.

Lack of a MotW this week

As my faithful reader has probably noticed by now, I did not post a Music of the Week this week. This was intended. I think I am going to post my list every other week so there will actually be quasi-significant changes from posting to posting. Of course the every other week thing will probably screw me up at some point.

Music of the Week (7/27/04)

So I'm cheating and saying it went out yesterday even though it's the 28th. Sue me. =)

So here's a recap of exacly how these lists are populated. I have a smart playlist[0] which gives me the 25 songs with the highest play count that have been played within the last week. This may get some songs that I have no listened to in a while, but listened to in the past week once or twice. So this list isn't as pure as it could be. The only other solution is to reset the play count on all my songs every week, but I really don't want to do that. There are some repeats from last week, but I am just going to leave them in because I am lazy.

Lots of Dashboard Confessional this week. My younger brother recommeneded the Ataris song on the list and I like it a lot.

Tune in next week.

[0] It's an iPod thing. You can tell it to make a playlist containing up to X songs which match criteria like "Most often played", "Least often played" or also matching fields in the tags. It's very cool.

Music of the Week (7/20/04)

I talked about this a while ago, but now I am actually going to do it. I plan on doing it every Tuesday, so here's the first edition.

The Spider-Man 2 soundtrack as well as the new Maroon 5 CD I bought are in somewhat heavy rotation on the iPod at the moment. Tune in next week.
